64 Inspirations to Purchase Intimates

It’s mid-March.  That means it’s tournament time.  The fashion world is on the verge of madness, eager to learn which problem will emerge victoriously in the 2010 Inspiration for Intimates Tournament and be recognized as this year’s number one reason that women buy intimate apparel.

As you know, hundreds of causes vie for the chance to be part of this field each year.  The tournament selection committee, as always, had a difficult job minimizing the number to sixty-four.  But early Sunday evening, they did just that.  It’s noteworthy that only fourteen of the Preseason Top 25 reasons ended the season by making it to the dance. Bra Stories That Don’t Hold Up

Over the past decade nothing’s fueled rumor and speculation more than the explosion of emails, blogs, and social-media postings found on the web.  Stories that used to be shared among friends and acquaintances in local communities now make their way around the world in a matter of minutes, their credibility bolstered by appearances in digital print (it must be true since someone took the time to write it down).  Questionable stories about even intimate apparel have gained currency and achieved “fact status” as a result of being told, retold, and referred to an innumerable number of times across the internet.  Four such stories involving bras have been particularly pervasive, so much so that they’ve attained notoriety as urban legends. Top 11 Olympic Underwear Stories

If you’re like most people from around the world, over the past couple of weeks you’ve been watching the XXI Winter Olympics being held in Vancouver, Canada.  During the Summer and Winter Games, the events themselves are the primary attractions of course, but there are always many other interesting features for fans to absorb.  There are the personal stories of the athletes themselves; the sights, sounds, and histories of the host venues; and the international political tensions that sometimes arise among the disparate group of competing nations.  But, let’s face it, all of that can get a bit tiresome.  There’s been another topic of conversation, throughout these and previous Olympic Games, which merits some attention as well.  And that topic is underwear. Shapewear Shrinks Your Shadow

Well, it’s that time of year again.  The world’s attention was drawn to Gobbler’s Knob in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania this morning in anticipation of the weather forecast of famed groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil.  Everyone wondered, “Will it be an early spring or six more weeks of winter?”  Like it or not, it looks like winter will hang on until the end of March.  For those who make it a point each year to hear Phil’s prediction (like the 12,000 people in attendance at Gobbler’s Knob this morning), the result was not surprising.  According to the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club, Phil has predicted six more weeks of winter nearly 100 times since 1887.  What is surprising are the reports out of western PA that, given the annual growth in attendance at this event and the worldwide attention his appearance generates, Phil and his wife Phyllis (sorry to burst your bubbles, ladies, but Phil is taken) are seriously considering updating their looks.  A source close to Phil has indicated that the marmots are strongly considering adding shapewear to their wardrobes next year.
